Can you steam non-dairy milk?
Milk alternatives such as almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk and oat milk seemed to have taken over coffee shops, supermarkets and homes not just for their health benefits but also for their great taste. But the question is, are they as good as cow’s milk in any coffee drink?
The answer is simple; yes. They can be just as creamy and sweet as cow’s milk, sometimes even more so. And thanks to their high protein content, they’re still able to be steamed, meaning you can continue to make incredible latte art with it.
We did some research to help you pick some delicious non-dairy milk, and found that the most popular milk in the UK is oat milk, followed by almond milk. Both drinks are very versatile and can be added to any drink to give a delicious flavour. If you haven’t tried either oat or almond milk yet, it’s been known that oat milk is the most similar in flavour to cow’s milk, whereas almond milk has quite a nutty flavour, which is great to compliment those nuttier flavoured coffee beans.
